History of Mpathy Medical
In 2001, gynecologist Dr. James Browning commenced a project to develop low impact surgical devices for the treatment of female urinary stress incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. His aim was to contribute to deliver better results with less invasiveness for women undergoing surgery.
Mpathy Medical was formed in the UK in 2003 and patent and product development continued. Subsequently, the company also focused on the clinical validation of its technologies, organizing trials in the US and UK and gaining regulatory clearance. Throughout this period, Mpathy Medical has worked with urogynecology expert, Dr. Tony Smith in Manchester, UK and Dr. Red Alinsod in California, USA. Mpathy Medical, Inc. was formed in late 2007 and the US launch of Mpathy Medical product lines for urinary incontinence - Minitape® - and pelvic organ prolapsed - Restorelle™ - took place in May 2008.
